Using MFX plug-ins in Cubase / Nuendo (PC Windows)
Cubase and Nuendo can make use of MIDI FX plug-ins according to the Cakewalk MFX specification. For using such plug-ins a so called "Wrapper" is required to translate the Cakewalk MFX plug-ins for operation in Steinberg applications.
Installation
- Please download this file: MFX_Plugin_Wrapper_1.0.8.zip
- Extract the file
- Copy the file "mfxwrapper.dll" into the "components" folder of your Cubase / Nuendo installation
- After the next application start, MFX plug-ins will be listed besides the already existing MIDI plug-ins delivered with Cubase / Nuendo
Additional information
- The installation of the wrapper alone does not provide any MFX plug-ins. These have to be obtained separately and installed according to their instructions.
- The purpose of the wrapper is to allow usage of MFX plug-ins registered on the system.
- Please note that MFX plug-ins using undocumented MFX functions may not be listed in Cubase / Nuendo.
- The MFX wrapper has been tested with Cubase SX 1.x only but can be normally used in all other Cubase / Nuendo applications as well.
- Further development of the wrapper has been ceased, therefore we can offer limited technical support.
