Advice for product installation on Windows Vista
If you would like to install products on a Windows Vista system, which are not officially tested or released for Windows Vista, you can find some tips here to circumvent potential problems with old Syncrosoft LCC versions and drivers for the Steinberg Key.
Basically you should know that our support department can only grant technical support for products, which have been officially released for Windows Vista! For some products, where this is not the case, here are some tips to help you anyway:

- Current HALion-based products such as HALion 3, HALion String Edition 2, HALion Symphonic Orchestra and The Grand 2 should be installed by just running the web update installer. Please visit the respective download website in our support area. A Windows Vista-compatible version of the Syncrosoft LCC will be installed! Afterwards proceed by copying the respective sample content from DVD manually on to your harddisk. Do not forget to assign the content to the plugin (see manuals for further details on this).
When using Windows Vista do not install from the original DVD! (does not apply to HALion Player retail and OEM) It is likely to install a not Windows Vista compatible version of the Syncrosoft LCC. We recommend to install using the web update installer. - For Wizoo-created products such as Hypersonic 2, Virtual Guitarist 2 and Virtual Bassist it is recommended to skip, respectively cancel any installation of the Syncrosoft LCC while installing the products itself. Instead please install the current Syncrosoft LCC version after the product installation has been finished!
- By installing version 3.x of Cubase SE, SL, SX or Nuendo it is likely to install a not compatible version of the Syncrosoft LCC. Therefore please follow this procedure:
- At first install the current version of the Syncrosoft LCC
- Now install the desired product
- Again install the current version of the Syncrosoft LCC
- For products which are neither listed here nor in our Windows Vista overview article (see above) we do not recommend to install the product on a Windows Vista system and can not grant any kind of technical support. If in doubt; continue to use the well established operating system Windows XP.
