* Dolby Stereo and ProLogic don´t contain discrete signals for the center-channels in the front and back. The signals for these channels are coded in the left and right front channels. The ProLogic decoder which was developed for home entertainment systems, controls the level ratio between the channels.
The single channels are adjusted against each other to achieve a better separation of the channels.
** Dolby Digital EX doesn´t contain a discrete signal for the center channel in the back. This signal is coded in the rear surround channel (surround-left and surround-right), similar to the ProLogic method.
